Frequently Asked Questions
We have compiled a number of frenqently asked questions that
you may find helpful.
1.How successful will you be getting my bank charges back?
To date the banks have not been successful
in defending a single claim. We cannot guarantee we will win
but we have not lost yet!
2.Can I recover my own bank charges back?
Yes you can.
In fact it is not an extremely complicated claim, really just
a time consuming one. There are many websites with template
letters and forums to help you bring the claim yourself, such
as www.moneysavingexpert.com.
Alternatively you could seek redress through the financial
ombudsman who is both independent and free.
You should always consider alternatives before entering into
a contract with any firm.
3.How much will it cost me?
We charge 25% of charges
recovered.
If proceedings are necessary
and issue fee and an allocation fee may be payable but these
are 100% recoverable against the banks on successful claims.
4.What if you are not able to recover my bank charges?
We work on a no-win-no-fee - a charge will be made for Work in progress should instructions be withdrawn after the 14 day cooling off period at a rate of £100.00 per hour and £10.00 per letter or call made or recieved. Should instructions not be withdrawn either explicitly or by virtue of failing to provide instructions, no charge will be made unless the claim is succesfull and then only at the rate specifically agreed. basis. If we are
not successful in your claim, you do not pay us anything. Not
a penny.
5.What details do I need to send to you?
All we need to begin with is your Full name
and address.
6.Do you have any more information you can send me?
Yes. We will send you one of our Welcome Packs.
This contains all the information you need and the instruction
forms for you to sign and return.
We will then start your claim
immediately.
7.Why do I need to send my bank statements to you?
In order to fully calculate the amount of
recoverable charges, and add the applicable interest we need
to know the date and amount of each and every charge.
We then
give this information to the banks or to the Court when issuing.
This
form the basis of your claim and all the information we need
is in your bank statements.
8.What privacy procedures do you implement?
All information is kept secure and in accordance
with Data Protection legislation. Please see our Privacy
Policy for further details.
9. How long does it take?
We endeavor to complete your claim as soon
as possible. Claims take on average around four months but
if proceedings are necessary then this could take a little
longer.
10. Do I need to open a new account?
Most banks will not close your account if
you make a claim. However as you are disagreeing with the terms
and conditions of the account, it is something the bank would
be within its rights to do.
Accordingly we do advise that claimants open alternative bank
accounts just in case. This also takes the power away from
the bank if they choose to use the threat of closing your account
as a way of scaring people away.
11. Does it apply to other contracts?
The current decision applies to all consumer
contracts, such as bank accounts, credit cards, store cards,
mortgages, loans et cetera.
What will you do with the money we recover
for you?
